Rachael Schwait

Certified Physician Assistant

Rachael has been a certified physician assistant since 2011. She received her bachelor's degree from The George Washington University, and her masters in physician assistant studies from Salus University in Elkins Park, PA. Her previous experience includes working in ear, nose, and throat, and plastic surgery, where she was performing full body skin exams, excisions, and complicated wound repairs in the Atlantic City trauma center. Rachael is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Dermatology Association, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is certified by the National Commision on Certification of Physician Assistants. She loves going to conferences and being a perpetual learner. Rachael grew up in upstate New York and South Jersey, and lived in Philadelphia before moving to Doylestown. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, live music, and exploring her new hometown.

  • Rachael spent her childhood in Cooperstown, NY. She developed an interest in medicine at a young age tagging along with her father for his consults in the emergency room at age five, and watching with awe as he stitched her knee at age seven. Her passion only grew as she did.

Rachael majored in public health and psychology during undergrad at The George Washington University, while taking the pre-med courses required for PA school (and serving as captain of the squash team!). She graduated with her masters in physician assistant studies from Salus University in 2011. She then joined her father at his plastic surgery practice in Linwood, NJ, and began the rigorous and demanding training only a father could provide.

Located by the shore, the practice saw an immense amount of sun damaged skin. Rachael was trained to have a discriminating eye for skin cancer detection, and performed full body screenings regularly. She excised cancerous lesions as well as benign masses such as cysts and lipomas. She was also the plastics practitioner on call for the local emergency rooms, repairing complex wounds of the face due to traumatic injuries. During this time, she volunteered with the LEAP Global Missions organization, and traveled to Jordan to provide surgical aid to Syrian refugees, a truly unforgettable experience.

Eventually, Rachael decided she wanted to broaden her medical knowledge and experience city living . She took a position working in an ear, nose, and throat practice outside of Philadelphia. While she truly valued her time at this practice, the experience clarified what she really desired for her career; to practice in a specialty that emphasizes her surgical skills and involves treatings conditions that she can see, feel, and watch improve with her own two eyes.

After marrying her husband and taking some time off to travel the Pacific Northwest, Rachael devoted herself to becoming a well-studied and well-trained dermatology PA. She is so excited to be living her dream and to have found such a wonderful mentor as Dr. White.
