In this Question and Answer Interview, we learn more about Dr. White and her passion for dermatology. What inspired her to become a dermatologist? What are her personal skincare tips? Read the interview below to learn more about Dr. White and RW Dermatology.

Q: What inspired you to become a dermatologist?

A: Seeing the connection between mind and body and more specifically between psyche and skin is fascinating to me. Our skin is a mirror to our insides and is also our armor to the surrounding environment. Skin manifests internal disease, including stress. Acne flares when one is stressed. Skin also manifests disease of every other organ system – such as liver, heart, kidney, and so on. It is most rewarding being able to heal a patient’s skin disease and subsequently, their whole attitude and demeanor.

Q: Why did you decide to practice dermatology in Buckingham?

A: Studying medicine and dermatology has taken me all over the country. This brought me many life experiences and allowed me to glean the best medicinal education and techniques from pioneers in the dermatology field. However, while cliché, there is no place like home. I grew up in Central Bucks County my whole life. It is truly a special place – with beautiful landscape, and warm inviting neighborhoods and people. I’ve always wanted to come back to serve the community in which I grew up. I am grateful that I am able to do so.

Q: Do you specialize in a specific area of dermatology? (e.g. Mohs, Cosmetic, etc.)

A: One of my favorite things about the field of dermatology is its vast array of practices. I can channel my artistic side and aesthetic eye when performing cosmetic injections. I love patient interaction and repertoire within medical dermatology and skin cancer screenings. At the same time, being hands-on and performing procedures, such as skin cancer excisions, is extremely rewarding. Therefore, I’ve never wanted to choose one specialty within dermatology over another. I love it all! RW Dermatology is built around the patient experience and having all of these services available in one place.

Q: What makes RW Dermatology one of the leading dermatology practices in Buckingham?

A: Being a recent graduate of residency, I am trained on the most up-to-date treatments and technologies in the specialty, and have incorporated these into building RW Dermatology. First, I created a practice environment that is chic and modern with an inviting décor. Next, I found a team of skin care experts to be able to provide skin care services from A to Z. This incorporates modern laser technology and state-of-the-art equipment. We offer cutting edge services within aesthetics and cosmetics, medical and surgical dermatology.

Q: What is your skin care recommendation for patients in Buckingham?

A: I am all about the convenience factor. Make skin care and sun protection easily accessible and part of your daily routine – like brushing your teeth. Sun protection helps prevents skin cancer and signs of aging. Keep a wide-brimmed hat and sunscreen in your car for sunny days. Put on a moisturizer that already has sunscreen in it on your face, hands, and forearms in the morning. Wash your face every time you brush your teeth – morning and evening. Simple steps like these will help your skin stay clean, healthy and fresh.

Q: What is your approach to providing patient care?

A: RW Dermatology is centered around patient care and experience. The entire RW Derm team are patient advocates and strive for positive patient experience from check-in to check-out, and beyond. This is achieved by being accessible and timely, always having a positive attitude, and staying educated – if we don’t know the answer we will find out and get back to you. Further, we provide all of the services and guidance to obtain and keep healthy, glowing skin. Our goal is for our patients to love the skin they’re in.

Q: What is one of your favorite things to do in Buckingham?

A: The things that I missed most while living nationally are the charming local shops and restaurants in Doylestown and New Hope. I love walking around the town centers with family and friends – wining, dining and laughing all along the way! It’s an added bonus that you’re guaranteed to run into neighbors and old acquaintances.
